I've enjoyed lurking, reading and printing messages, and occasionally replying, but until now haven't had a need to send out a request for information. I hope this works and I get some responses. Our school board just approved our studying and possibly adopting the 8-block schedule in 1996. My principal has found many schools which have adopted it and like the results; however, he would like to talk to someone from a school that tried it, failed, and returned to traditional scheduling. Has that happened to any of you? Can you give me the names of any such schools? Since it has been around for about six years, we feel there must be some school where it didn't work. We'd like to know why. I'd also like to know how 8-block affects the media center, but I'll check the archives before targeting that question. I know it's been discussed. (Of course, if you'd like to share your thoughts on this, I'd welcome them.) Thanks, in advance! Gerry Schriefer Mahomet-Seymour High School Mahomet, IL 61853 gschrief@ncsa.uiuc.edu
