I must come out in favor of reading--both as a disciplinary trechnique--
I read alot a the beginning of the year to estqblish
conttrol,quiet,etc-and because I really believe if they love literature
and can read--the rest will come easier and quicker--I believe there are
"critical ages" where kids have to read picture books--have to reAd real
fiction to "hook them in"encyclopedia lessons can come later and even go
electronic but they have to love to read--Soap box alert!
