Subject: Job Opening

Our Lower School Principal asked me if I could post this job
announcement online in appropriate places, and I hope that this is
indeed appropriate:

Sidwell Friends Lower School Library Opening

The Sidwell Friends School, a co-educational PK-12 Quaker school, is
seeking an outstanding Lower School librarian for its PK-4 Bethesda,
Maryland campus. After 22 years, our current librarian will be

The candidate should have a strong interest in and understanding of
children's literature; be able to share his or her excitement of books
with children; be able to plan with teachers; be able to integrate
library media activities, and share the exciting potential of the
library throughout the school commuynity. Technology and media skills
very helpful. Please send resume with a detailed cover letter to:

"There isn't much doubt that the ball player of today is far more
mercenary than he was 30 or even 20 years ago. In the last 15 years the
major league star has been 'in the big money', and to remain there is his
first objective."
