TARGET -> Computer Lending

I am a grad student at the U of I (seeking media endorsement) looking for
any information from practitioners on a "case" for an administration
class. The problem is how to institute a library-based literacy program
for K-12 students which includes computer lending. The problem also
entails giving recommendations for equipment and outside funding. Has
anyone out there tried this or is anyone currently lending computers?
What works (or doesn't/hasn't worked) and how has it been funded? Is this
even a feasible reality? Please respond to me directly and I promise to
compile the responses and post a hit. Thanks for your help.
