The International Association of School Librarianship meets July 17-21 in Worcester, England at the Worcester College of Higher Education. Conference chair Jean Webb is accepting proposals for papers until February 28; the conference theme Sustaining the Vision has four subthemes--librarianship; literacy; children's literature; technology; send proposals to Dr. Webb at the College, Henwick Grove, Worcester WR2 6AJ, England. Confirmed speakers include Margaret Evans, a leading UK researcher in library and information studies, Kimberly Reynolds, director of the Children's Literature Research Centre, Margaret Meek, a leading specialist in children's literature, Vida Conway, past chair of the School Library Association, Michael Rosen, critic and broadcaster, and Tony Ghaye and Anne Clyde on research. Tours, banquets, local culture, etc. are all part of IASL conference. Members will receive registration packages this month; others can request them from IASL, POB 19586, Kalamazoo, MI 49019-0586.
