Alternative Science Fair Projects II

I am posting this request again in hopes to get more information from
other media specialist or teachers on alternatives to science fair
projects. I want to thank those of you who responded to my request. Since
my origional note is not on the network, I am postin the request again.
I am looking for projects, ideas or competitions which can be substituted
for creating science fair projects. The students need to do some type of
research for the project.  I am interested in projects for General
Level/Tec Prep students on the High School level.  I have received some
suggestions from elementary schools and they are a good start for some
ideas.  I would appreciate any resources, people or schools which I could
contact to request information.
