The guided missile destroyer, the USS Alfredo Gonzalez, was
christened and launched on Saturday, February 18, 1995 in Bath,
Maine. The destroyer was named after Marine Sergeant Alfredo
Gonzalez who was a graduate of Edinburg High School in Edinburg,
Texas.  Sgt. Gonzalez was killed in Viet Nam on February 4, 1968
and was posthumously awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor on
October, 31, 1969.

We are collecting articles about the event for our archives. We would like
copies of articles in local Maine newspapers which covered the launching
