My thanks to everyone who responded to my request for information from
individuals with experience using the ENCYCLOPAEDIA BRITANNICA on CD-ROM
in a school environment. Comments included:

"It is cumbersome to search and the info is spotty....
Our students don't like it at all."

"...definitely High School to Adult reading level. I do
have...in my middle school and some...students are able
to use it, but not the majority."

"What about...Grolier's or Compton's. They are much more
usable and a better price. The Britannica is highly
overpriced for what the user gets."

"From what I have seen...I'm afraid they are way behind
the times. ...this venerable and honored masterpiece...
is not worth the premium they put on it...when you can
get 3 or 4 other excellent multimedia encyclopedia for
        the same price."

"...it needs too much memory to run on my network.
...Information Finder seems to have everything that we
        need."

"I don't regard it as very user friendly. ...The dongle
is a nuisance as it can cause problems with the running
of other programs if not set up properly."

Again, thanks to all who responded.
