I'm not a school librarian and never have been, but I have been a high school teacher, vice principal, and principal -- and I know that a measure of my success in all those was tied to my association with the library and the librarian. I value them greatly. I've been quickly learning in this job as a professor of educational administration how many librarians perceive themselves, but also that many don't seem to have a clear understanding of how they are perceived by others -- especially the others who make the decisions that shape the worlds within which they work....nor of what they can do to shape those perceptions. I'd be interested in knowing about the writing you have in mind. Gary
