I am the member of the planning team for a new high school due to open in the
fall of '95. If any of you are faculty members of a high school that is
currently implementing or is researching or planning initiatives in any of the
following areas, I would like to hear from you. Please address mail to me
personally.
Heterogenous grouping (not offering "A" track or Honors classes)
Portfolio assessment (particularly as a senior exhibition or graduation
requirement)
Competency-based assessment
School within a school or academies or houses
Copernican method of scheduling
Scheduled advisory period with all certified staff members having an advisory
group
Integrated math program
Integrated science program
Content based instruction in foreign language
Again, I will be interested in hearing from you. If any of you have principals
who would like to correspond by e-mail with another principal interested in
these areas, maybe we could get our principals together.
