Paper and book binding glue may scorch in a microwave.  Use caution.
Also, watch for tattle tapes with metal in them.  Some book vendors use
these strips to control warehouse theft, so even if you do not have a
security system of you own...

I read where WET books may be saved by freeze drying them.  (freeze drying,
not freezing). I wonder if this would work to kill mold, at least it
might halt the spread.  If it happened once, it might happen again,
especially if there is mold in carpets, etc.  The facility may need
re-design unless this was a one-time freak of nature.
