K-12 COMMUNITY:  NYSERNET WINTER/SPRING TRAINING CATALOG AVAILABLE

After a successful fall series of courses, NYSERNet, Inc. announces the
availability of the NYSERNet Internet Training and Education Center --
NITEC -- Winter/Spring Training Catalog.  NITEC, operating year-round,
offers a full schedule of seminars and hands-on workshops for beginning,
intermediate, and advanced Internet users and technical staff.  We have
expanded our course offerings for the winter and spring, and are also
offering evening versions of some of our most popular courses for those who
can't attend a single full day session.

We offer the courses in Internet basics you'll need to get started using
the Internet, and two intermediate level courses aimed specifically at
integrating Internet use into the K-12 curriculum:

320 INTEGRATING THE INTERNET INTO YOUR CURRICULUM
This team-based, hands-on workshop for education professionals provides
participants with the skills and knowledge necessary to effectively
integrate the vast resources of the Internet into the teaching and learning
process. Participants will team up to design educational projects that
incorporate Internet information resources then "surf the net" to locate,
retrieve, and integrate information for their project. An excellent way to
start planning how to integrate the Internet into your curriculum in the
95/96 school year!


321 INTEGRATING THE INTERNET INTO YOUR CURRICULUM: PM Edition
Do you want to include the Internet in your classroom but can't play hooky
from school to learn how?  Then INTEGRATING INTERNET INTO YOUR CURRICULUM:
PM Edition is the workshop for you! This is workshop 320, Integrating the
Internet Into Your Curriculum, delivered in two evenings.

FACILITIES IN SYRACUSE, NEW YORK
The NITEC classroom is a state-of the-art facility that seats 24 students for
lectures or smaller groups for hands-on training.  NITEC supports both
Macintosh and DOS/Windows desktop computers.  NITEC students work with
the latest Internet client software and resources in an environment
conducive to learning and retention. The center also provides technical
training for systems administrators, primarily in UNIX.  NITEC has
assembled a knowledgeable team of instructors and curriculum-specific
consultants and educators.
