Subject: UPDATED LIST OF SCHOOLS IN JAPAN

SCHOOLS IN JAPAN ON THE INTERNET 2.4
Jan. 24 Version

WHAT THIS LIST IS FOR

Students and others who wish to send their wishes and concern to school kids
in Japan may use this list to do so. It includes Internet mailing addresses
for schools (domestic and international) and universities in Japan. One
contact in Tokyo is also accepting physical cards, posters, etc. for students
in Kobe.

We hope to add to this list. Please contribute any sites that you're aware
of. And feel free to forward it to anyone who may be interested.

We intend to continue helping Japanese and international students communicate
over the Net after the emergency.

We have chosen a name to honor harmony in diversity: the PENGIN MURA
INTERNET CLUB. Our project address is:

 <pmiclub@aol.com>.

>From Japan, Stephen Turnbull of the "Thousand Cranes" email
project contributes the following:

"Come to "http://turnbull.sk.tsukuba.ac.jp/" and read about it (Thousand
Cranes). Or just send *short* emails (1--5 lines or so, several authors in
one message is OK) to the people (esp. children) of Kobe (and Japan) care of
-

 "Yaseppochi-gumi <turnbull@shako.sk.tsukuba.ac.jp>".

"If you want to write longer ones, that's good too, but it will be part of a
different folder."

"A THOUSAND CRANES, A THOUSAND E-MAILS.

"I'd like to collect a thousand e-mails from schoolkids, especially, to
forward to the children of Kobe. Adults are welcome, too, of course.
If you want to participate, just send your e-mail to me.

"Just one line is enough. Don't write too much; maybe 5 or 6 lines at
most. If you want to write something longer, go ahead, maybe that
will go into another project---but give me the 4-liner, too. (Please
put the long one in a separate message; it will go into a different
folder.)

"You can send them individually, or as a digest assembled from a whole
class. Please make the body of each individual message contiguous,
with no blank lines. The last line (also contiguous) should be your
name, and a mailing address if you like. Don't expect a response; but
I wouldn't be surprised if someday you get one. . ."

His e-mail address is: <turnbull@shako.sk.tsukuba.ac.jp>.
