Half-time Media Specialist

Richard Guy asked about an e-mail address you can write to about this abhorrent
situation.  The superintendent nor any of the board members have one.  However,
the principal's e-mail address is tdurbin@scoca.ohio.gov.  This may be an
effective way to wake him up since I suspect  he encouraged this situation
because of personal and professional differences with the media specialist.  He
will certainly pass on messages to the superintendent.

This does not violate state standards since in Ohio you have to have one
media certified person in the district.  Georgetown does have a certified
elementary media specialist.  BTW, this person could be any teacher in the
district.  You do not have to have a certified person in any school library.
Don't you love it?  The district's teacher association is all but non-existent.
I do understand they even checked with North Central and it does not even
violate their standards.  Do we see a problem here?

Thanks for your support.  I certainly need it.  I have always felt that media
specialists have the best support system in education at every level.  Thank
heavens!
