Barbara Weidner wrote about audiobooks and I have to second that motion! I had never had any real interest in listening to books...a mindset thing, I think. Besides, I love to listen to music and usually do that in the car. However, about a year ago I had an audiotape of Maclachlan's book *Baby* as a review item. So...driving the almost two hours from home to Austin to visit my son at the Univ. of Tx., I slipped the tape in. I was enthralled...loved the story, loved the production and it was exactly right in terms of time...2 hours up, 2 hours back. Since then I've gotten several more books on tape and find that on long drives it can be very refreshing. I recently listened to Doctorow's *Waterworks* read by Sam Waterston.....marvelous. Took care of my Spring Break travels quite well. I just needed a bit of a paradigm shift. Cheryl Cheryl Bybee, Director of Library Services -- Northside ISD 6632 Bandera Road, Bldg.
