Rose Falanga, Director, Library and Information Services at the Explortorium
(a wonderful interactive k12 museum in San Francisco) has asked me to post
the following position. Because her printed posting is longer than I want to
clog your mailboxes with, I amend it--
 
Library / Fixed-Term Position--major respons. routinely explore the internet
to target, investigate, evaluate, and link to appropriate resources; locate,
transmit and store electronic text and images; promote the use of media and
instru. technologies; provide training in a variety of settins including one
on one, hands-on, group lecture and by electronic distrib.; provide internet
user support to network participants and staff; participate in designing and
implementing gophers and WWW home pages; maintain informational content of
gophers and WWW pages; moderate listservs; participate in planning for the
acquisition and integration of new infor. resources.  qualifications: able
to deal conceptually with education issues; familiar with gopher, WAIS, WWW,
listservs; demost a vison of and enthusiasm for the future of elect. tech.;
at least two years internet surfing exp.; exper with a wide range of online
and manual ref. sources; mls or equiv. skill in using various applications
of Mac;, etc.
This fixed-term, half-time, exempt, union position pays 304.55 to 323.09 per
week and will end on or before Nov. 30, 1996.  The position is half-time
until winter 95-96 when it will increase to 75% or 100%, depending on
