A recent answer about baseball was so incomprehensible to me, as an Englishman and *cricket* fan that I have to ask for an explanation. I want to use the letter as a linguistic exercise but can't until someone explains it for me! Please tell what the following are: 1. Ken Holtzman... was 9-0 2. he went on to throw for the A's... 3. he tossed two no-hitters with the Cubs 4. His career high in wins came in 1973 with 21... 5. ...complimenting a 2.97 ERA 6. Most dingers in a season 7. ...netted 224 RBI and 188 runs in only 500+ at bats. 8. smashed 14.46 four-baggers per every 100 at bats Any URL's for US slang? Could be useful for the rest of the world! PS The title of this request refers to the commonly held belief in the UK that baseball is the same as the game of rounders, which is a game played mainly by young children and girls (or families). I'm not entering any argument about whether that's true or not!!!
