April Fool's joke not funny (Discover mag)

I don't know how many of you or the teachers in your schools thought the
article in the April issue of Discover magazine on ice borers (Life on ice
- Hotheads) was authenic, but I understand it was simply an April Fool
joke.  One of our science teachers was livid when he found out that a
magazine of this qulity would do that.  He had presented it as fact to his
students, and I had told numerous people about these auful creatures,
unbeknowing that they do not exist.  He is going to quit his subscription.
Do we need to question what this publisher prints in the future?
