TECH:Data Trek, MARCIVE, and recon - HELP!

Hello everyone!

I have waited until I am at the very end of my wits and patience to write
this and here I am . . . at the very end.  I have had my collection tied up
with a retrospective conversion (recon) since December with a
company in San Antonio: MARCIVE, Inc.  During the first week of May, I
finally received a test disk to download(import) onto my district's
automated system, Data Trek, which is based in California.  It took two
weeks and _numerous_ phone calls to both companies to finally get the
right format and parameters set for the disk to download; however, the
barcode numbers will not download and my system just assigns barcodes to
the records.  I have worked on this for another two weeks.  Here it is May
31st and I _still_ am not having success.  Now, that I have vented I have
a question(or several in one):

Is there anyone out there who is on Data Trek, has used MARCIVE for a
recon project, or has had (or known anyone who has had) a retrospective
conversion and can give me any advice or suggestions?

I am so tired of being a ping pong on the phone between these two
companies who cannot understand my problem(s) from hundreds of miles
away and of being put off by the district's tech guy - he is extremely
busy but I have to have this done sometime!
