Linda - We have used the KMO program in our high school for many years as an enrichment activity for our GATE (gifted and talented) students -- this year there isn't a GATE coordinator (at least I haven't heard about one) so KMO hasn't been done. I like the program, but then I'm a trivia freak! When I would watch the kids doing it (the library, of course, was the largest space available with proper hookups, etc.) I observed that the ones who spoke out the loudest got the answer keyed in (altho' it was often not the right one). If you're doing it for fun and socialization, that's OK; if you're going for the high score, then there has to be some training (and discipline) taught ahead of time. Once the contest is on, adults are required to "butt out" so the kids have to have the discipline themselves.
