About 1 1/2 years ago B & T exceeded the bar code numbers assigned to them and used numbers I had assigned to another vendor. Inasmuch as we import records on Unison by bar code, the date disk transposed and mixed the new records over the existing records. What a nightmare! I didn't discover the error until students started complaining about receiving overdues for titles they hadn't checked out. It was only about 25 books and a pattern emerged because the other books were state books. B & T assured me this would not happen again, but last year, I caught it again. I've now assigned B & T bar codes projected ahead for the next 5 years and I check each disk first before importing. Even though we use B & T for the majority of our titles, we also like to use other vendors. Any ideas?
