I am responding to the list because this is one of several messages regarding the World Book Information Finder CD-ROM. IMHO it is one of the best multimedia encyclopedias on the market and very user-friendly. The software must be installed so it cannot be checked out but for me this is not a draw-back. The list price is around $450 so jump on it at $99.00. This is a special offer made to libraries who have purchased a print set of WB within the last two years. The text is from the print version. It includes color pictures and the ability to print an entire article or a section. Cross-references are easy to access with a click. It also contains an atlas, time-line, gallery, and "InfoTree", which organizes the data into eight main subject categories. The Gallery has 32 categories of pictures with captions.Boolian searches are easy to do. Search can be made of words or topics. Research tools include a notepad, bookmarks, and a dictionary. The control bar is easily used and understood. In short, find the $99 somewhere and jump on this offer. =+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+= Jan Moore Foster Elementary Library Media Specialist 1025 High Point janmoore@tenet.edu Arlington, TX 76015 FAX (817)468-8292 (817)465-4702 ==============================================================================
