On September 29, Carolyn Christiansen asked who was using what style manuals at the HS and college levels. We are using the style described in the English grammar book our English department uses: John E. Warriner, "English Composition and Grammar." Harcourt, 1988. We make up a "Footnotes & Bibliography" sheet for the students, and also a "Parenthetical Citation" sheet for teachers who prefer those. These are the accepted forms here. In the library's reference section we also have copies of Turabian and MLA. In my graduate school days, a while back, we were allowed to use anything as long as we were TOTALLY consistent. I'm not sure whether or not that is true today, but I suspect it might be. <*><*><*><*><*><*><*><*><*><*><*><*><*><*><*><*><*><*><*><*><*> Joan Rosen | 500 Rices Mill Road Librarian | Wyncote, PA 19095, USA Cheltenham High School | (215) 881-6380 jrosen@mciunix.mciu.k12.pa.us | Fax: (215) 881-6406 <*><*><*><*><*><*><*><*><*><*><*><*><*><*><*><*><*><*><*><*><*>
