Someone (sorry I deleted the message), asked for information on Judith Viorst's
Southpaw.  Great story that can be found in Free to Be You and Me.  Carole
Hart, McGraw Hill Books, 1974.

Just a quick note:  I saw Caroline Feller Bauer use this with a group by having
the letters written out (Janet and Richard).  I have used this with all my
second grades (all of ten of them) with our unit on friendship and baseball
(goes along with HBJ reading series).
