Netfolk -

Let me take a crack at this for all of you who think we are somehow "voting"
on whether to reply to those who ask questions, or share unwanted information
with an entire list.

There are some folks out there who do not subscribe to the list. But they do
post questions. Then they follow through and post a hit. But if you send
your answer to the list, they don't see your answer, and you are not a part
of their results. So the best policy is to reply to the individual. In all
cases.

Also - replies to individuals are just that - personal mail. Unless they
were solicited with the stated (TARGET) purpose of posting a hit, they should
be respected as personal messages. If you intend to share them, make that
clear in your inquiry, or ask afterwards to share it.

This is MY take on the ethical question. This is posted as a part of the
"discussion." I expect that there will be replies to the list, but if you
care to reply to me directly, I will respect your privacy.
