I read it differently: 41 people out there either (1) don't have enough money appropriate yet for *this year's* reference books (you *did* specify), or (2) don't much like what they *do* have, or (3) are so swamped with students, projects, administrative requests, and just general library media messes (or was that only I???), or (4) have not had enough patrons use the new materials that they can make an intelligent appraisal of the potential success of the materials. Two people (those who suggested books) are not only to be congratulated for responding, but are to be envied that they had the money to buy them, and the time to critically review them, use them with students, and find the time to reply to you! Sorry, kiddo, but LM_NETters, IMNSHO, deserve better than this! But... what the heck, we all have bad days. Maybe tomorrow will look better. Best of luck to you. Mary Kraft mkraft.nosc@ash.palni.edu
