Fellow Cybrarians -- In case you haven't seen or heard, I came across an article in the news yesterday regarding a virus that is currently carried on Microsoft Word (I don't think it indicated which platform). As I recall, the article said that a large *I* displayed on the screen when booting indicates that the virus is present. They also indicated that software can be downloaded from the Microsoft site on the WWW to combat this virus. Apparently this poses a threat that no-one anticipated up 'til now -- that a virus can be carried on a data base. What have others heard about this and has anyone out there encountered a problem yet? We just began using 10 brand-new IBM compatibles with Word a few weeks ago and so far everything's OK (I think).
