     New York State School Library Systems are state-funded
consortia of school districts that support resource sharing and
cooperative activities that enhance school library media
programs. This position requires interest and expertise in
information technology and library automation. Administrative
certification can be earned as a condition of employment. For

School Library System Coordinator
Location: Delaware-Chenango-Madison-Otsego BOCES
          Support Services, Norwich, NY  13815-9574
Reports: Jessica Cohen, Assistant Superintendent for
          Instructional Services
Terms: 12 months
Qualifications: Certified or eligible to receive New York State
certification in School Library/Media and as a School
Administrator/Supervisor. Masters in Library Science with at
least three years experience as a school library media
specialist.
Responsibilities/Duties: Selected candidate will assume
responsibility for (1) Coordinating interlibrary loans among
component schools and between schools and other agencies, (2)
Supervising the development of Union Catalog and School Library
Automation project, (3) Supervising school library system, (4)
Coordinating in-service activities to meet needs of component
districts' librarians and library aides, (5) Maintaining liaison
with other school library systems, South Central Research Library
Council, Four County Library System and State Education
Department, (6) Serving as a consultant for component districts,
(7) Other duties as identified.
Salary/Benefits: $43,000-$48,000 with benefits
