MIDDLE: L.A. Earthquake chat group

One of the teachers in our junior alternate programs
(at risk eighth graders) is looking for a way for her
students to chat with students in the L.A. area who
experienced the Jan. 1994 earthquake.  Help would
be appreciated in two forms:
1) How does one go about setting up a "chat" group?
2) Would your class be willing to participate in this
   kind of a project?
