I am a first grade teacher in Minnesota and am taking graduate courses for information media at St. Cloud State University in MN. I have completed 18 credits at the moment but am wondering if I should keep going for my media specialists degree or go to an ALA accredited school so I could work at a university or public library or as a university teacher in the future. *Should I change if I want to work in public schools for the next 5 years? *If I move out of Minnesota, will I be hired without ALA accredidation? *If you have both, what are the differences in course work? *If I keep on with the media specialist degree does that limit me if I want to teach university level coursework in 10 years? Please respond directly to me and write Julia on the subject line. TIA, Julia Frank White Elementary Library 400 Huntsinger Ave. Park Rapids, MN 56470 218-732-3333 ext. 206 0309fwel@inforMNs.k12.mn.us
