Manteca USD is a large district between Stockton and Modesto.  Sierra is
a new high school.  This will be the first year with a senior class.  The
library has a Novell network with 13 student stations.  Follett Unison for
library andtextbook circulation is in place.  CD towers access programs for
student research.  Teaching staff is on the young side with recent
training.  A part-time assistant may be available this year.

Manteca, pop. 45,000, is an old valley agricultural town that has recently
welcomed commuters from the East Bay area.  Median home cost is
$124,000.  It is located about two hours from San Francisco and
Yosemite.

Teachers interested in obtaining library/media credentials may attend San
Jose State University (1 1/2 hour drive) or Fresno Pacific College (2 1/2
hour drive).
