Group -- I have a colleague who is interested in doing research on the World Wide Web on the topic of paramilitary and neo-fascist organizations. She is not interested in them necessarily knowing that she visited their web site -- thus: 1) What kind of trail does one leave in visiting a site? Can a person determine which machine has visited a site by it's IP address? 2) How hard is it for someone to alter the information on a web page by someone who didn't create the web page? Can someone purposely invalidate statistics or text from a remote region? Thanks, all you web whackers!
