I need some ideas on ways to teach middle school students library skills in such a way that the students will be motivated. I plan to work with the classroom teachers to correlate the skills lessons with classroom activities. Because of scheduling conflicts within our K-8 school, these students came to the library for study hall last year and now think of it as a place to play on the computers and hold conversations with their friends. Now that the study halls have been eliminated, the students still think of the library as a play place and their mindsets will have to be changed as to the importance of the library as a place to obtain information from both books and electronic sources. I would appreciate any suggestions. Please reply to me directly as I read LM_NET from the archives and have my subscription set to NOMAIL. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Madeline L.
