SEC: TECH: Multistandard/universal VCRs

 Hello friends-
I am scraping your brains to see if anyone has or recommends a multi-standard V
CR.  We had an Instant Replay unit a few years ago, but it can no longer be rep
aired as the company went down the tubes.  I know that Panasonic has one, but i
t costs $$$$.  I remember seeing one that cost around $600. but of course I don
't know where:( or how reliable it was.  By the way, a multi-standard VCR recor
ds and play back videos from European and other countries that use PAL or SECAM
instead of the USA standard NTSC signal.  I would also be interested in finding
 a company or ? that would be able to transfer PAL tapes to the NTSC VHS standa
rd and what it would cost.  TIA   Peter
