A couple of ideas for schoolwide programs that would be good grant projects involving the Internet are: * The Happy Valley School (K-6) in Santa Cruz (CA) received $34,000 in grants for an Internet program that ranged from electronic pen pals to creative writing to virtual investing. * "Vocal Point: A Collaborative, Student Run Online Newspaper" this was done by teachers in Boulder and Boulder Valley Colorado. * Constructing and publishing student projects on the Web -- Great work in this area has been coordinated by Area Education Agency #7 in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Complete descriptions of these can be found in _The Internet for Teachers and School Library Media Specialists_ by Edward J. Valauskas and Monica Ertel (Neal-Schuman, 1996).
