I sent a message to lm_net last week requesting messages in support of three books that are being challenged in our K-5 library. I was hoping to give a copy of these messages along with the book reviews to my principal this morning but unfortunately she was out for the day. I will at a conference tomorrow so the meeting will be next Friday. I would greatly appreciate additional messages from librarians who have read the following books along with comments on their appropriateness in a K-5 library. The titles are: Bones in the cliff by James Stevenson Mick Harte was here by Barbara Park Earthshine by Theresa Nelson These three books are on a recommended reading list for our state's Great Stoneface Award. I have copies of several reviews for each title. The teacher objects to the language in the first two titles and the subject in the third (AIDS). Please send messages directly to me, not to the list. thank-you, Yvette *************************************************************************** Yvette Viger | Mildred C.
