LM_NET: Library Media Networking
Many, many thanks to all of you who sent suggestions for poems that mention
all the months of the year. I was sure you'd have great suggestions -- but
the teacher and our assistant principal were just plain amazed!
For those who asked me to share the results:
"Chicken Soup With Rice" (Maurice Sendak)
"The Months" (Christina Rosetti in "Favorite Poems Old and New" ed. by Ferris)
"Almanac for the Year" (Aileen Fisher)
"Calendar" (Sara Coleridge in "Random House Book of Poetry for Children")
"January" (Mother Goose)
The teacher and I both just shook our heads when we saw "Chicken Soup With
Rice" -- we'd been so busy looking in anthologies that we forgot all about
a single title (and one that she had in her room and I on the MC shelves,
at that!). Guess it was a case of "can't see the forest for the trees"!
