In response to the questions that have been posted about finding books which deal with children's problems, people might want to look for a copy of Bookfinder 2, and the Best of Bookfinder, both published by American Guidance Service, Circle Pines, MN 55014 These sources are: "A guide to children's literature about the needs and problems of youth, aged 2-15. They describe and categorize childrens books according to 450 psychological, behavioral and developmental topics. It is written primarily for parents, teachers, librarians, counselors, psychologists and other adults who want to find books to help children cope with the challenges of life." (from the introduction). Each entry provides a summary of the book, the subject area it deals with (divorce, etc.), ages it is appropriate for, and all formats in which it is available (hardcover, paperback, cassette, etc.) Our school psychologist recommended Bookfinder. Cost was about $75.00 each when I purchased them. Carolyn Gierke Sweet Home HS
