Sorry to open this up again, but since my Iditarod "hit" I have found some
errors and uncovered new information for those interested.

First, the list address below is no longer in service. It was active last
year, but the sponsors are doing other projects this year. So, do not bother
to try: rsrk@aurora.alaska.edu

Second, I have tried all the web sites which were sent to me and which I posted
in my last Iditarod hit and have not been successful with most of them. It
could just be that they are busy, but I don't have a clue as to whether or not
they are active sites. Maybe someone could enlighten me.

Third, the most successful and useful site I have found is the following:

        http://alaska.alaskan.com/~iditarod/

This is an official web page for the Iditarod and includes a section for
teachers, information on the education packets that are available, and a place
where updates will be available (follow Zuma).

I also have written to the following addresses for information:
        Lois Harter: lharter@iditarod.org
        ? : iditasnow@aol.com

- Information and updates will be featured on AOL for those who have
access.
- Another site that was somewhat useful, actually I used telnet to get to it:
TELNET sled.alaska.edu (log in as sled)

- A catalog of Iditarod merchandise is available from the following:
        Iditarod Trail Committee, Inc.
        5530 E. Northern Lights Blvd., Suite 1A
        Anchorage, Alaska 99504-3145
        1-800-545-6874
Included are alot of patches and mugs and keychain sorts of things, but there
_are_ some good books and trail maps.

I hope this clears us some of the difficulties people have been having, and is
a help to those who have been searching for information. There are probably
lots of other possibilities. I have a few additional web sites which I have
not tried yet. If anyone wants them, please e-mail me directly.

Thanks to everyone who has helped on this! And please send to me any other
good sources you find.
