MIDDLE SCHOOL LIBRARIAN

The Haverford School is an independent college-preparatory day school
that enrolls approximately 600 boys in grades k through 12.  The
Severinghaus Library serves the Upper and Middle School students and
faculty.

We are currently seeking a Middle School Librarian to be appointed as of
August 1, 1996.  The successful candidate for this position will hold an
ALA accredited MS/MLS and have a strong interest in working with students
in grades 6-12.  Candidates should also have a good working knowledge of
and an enthusiasm for automated library systems.

Responsibilities for the Librarian will include a broad spectrum of
professional activities associated with running a school library, but
will be focused on serving our Middle School population.  These
activities can include, but are not limited to , budgetary responsibilities, staff
supervision, reference service, circulation disk supervision, cataloging,
searching the Internet and DIALOG, providing library instruction,
collection analysis, policy development, user studies, etc.

Salary:         $23,700, negotiable
