LM_NETters: Here in Indiana, the Governor's Office and other agencies in state government have come together to require that every public school district in the state have a local board-adopted Acceptable Use Policy for Internet. Further, there is a shopping list of requirements the language of the policies must meet, and the policies must be submitted to the state DOE for approval and archiving. My question is, is any other state mandating this kind of policy adoption? If so, what kind of specific requirements are being dictated? By the way, for those interested, available on the web at <http://doe.state.in.us/LearningResources/aup123> are the Indiana state AUP requirements and a sample policy developed by the state which meets the requirements.
