TECH: Color Scanner - Mac

I have a teacher who is trying to find a color scanner for her Macintosh
that will do both a good job scanning photographs and will be able to use
OCR software to scan and translate text.  She is looking at one
manufactured by ReliSys and wonders if any of you have had experience with
this company's scanners.  She'd also like any recommendations of other
color scanners which have worked well for you.
