Open Court:Reading program

Dear Lmnetters,

I'm posting this for our primary teachers.  Our school is considering
the purchase of Open Court - it's a basal reading program.
We would like any information you could give us about this series.
Our county embraces a whole language philosophy.  We would like
any pro or con responses to take to our principal.
