TECH: Install using CDs

Hi again.  I'm just getting used to installing programs using CDs.
When I attempted to install Avid Videoshop on our 5300 I read that I should
restart with extensions off.  I did - and my CD icon didn't appear.  I
removed CD and put back in - still no icon.  I used the shift key to
disable.  Did someone mention once doing something else instead?
