I've been enjoying reading all the messages about Aussie food. They've
brought back a lot of good memories. We lived in Wagga Wagga, New South
Wales for a year (_many_ years ago!) and had a lot of fun learning all the
different terms for similar foods: biscuits for cookies, tomato sauce for
ketchup, etc.

In the ongoing discussions I have not heard anyone mention Lemon Squash as
a drink. If memory serves me correctly, it tasted something like the soft
drink Squirt--not exactly, but sort of. Also, the kids drank various
flavors of cordials (cord-e-als). This was a flavored syrup that you added
water to--reminded me of Kool-Aid. I also remember "salad"
sandwiches--whatever meat you wanted along with lettuce and beets! That
was good! I also seem to remember baked beans on toast.

Thanks, guys and gals, for the trip down memory lane!
