(Regarding Internet access in the south, and the lack of postings from Carolinas etc. on LM_NET) I'm from South Carolina and an occasional participant in LM_NET, though I usually follow Sig.EDTECH. Here in South Carolina, virtually all schools in the state have free access to FrEdMail, which provides an Internet address, E-Mail, and access to educational newsgroups like LM_NET. Throughout the south, for $25.00 (yes, twenty five dollars), a school can get Internet access through SERVE (Gopher, FTP, text based WWW, WAIS), and each teacher in a school can have his/her own account. It's not so much that access isn't available, it's that few teachers avail themselves of the opportunity. <mwebster@anderson.sc.fred.org> ---------------- 34.31.15N, 82.39.25E Media Specialist 7-8 at Pendleton Junior High School, Pendleton, SC Also SERVE address: mark.webster@bbs.serve.org
