SEC:STUDENT EVAL. OF TEACHERS

If your school practices having students evaluate
teachers, please read on.

PHS (9-12) student pop. 375 (60% Caucasian/40% Black)
Rural town approx. 3,000
Recently in a committee meeting on block scheduling
(our first year to use it), a parent proposed that
students be allowed to evaluate teachers.  The eval.
would be tallied & placed in the teacher's permanent
file.  In the future there would be the possibility
of merit pay being based at least in part on student
evaluations.

We would appreciate receiving pro's/con's...a copy of
a form being used...uses of student evaluations...
ANY info you can provide would be sincerely appreciated.
