Fellow Netters,

I have just signed back on the listserv after a six-month absence, so
this question may have already been answered, but I did an lm_net archive
search and didn't find what I needed.

I will be conducting an Internet workshop for my faculty on February
28, and I need help in two areas.

First, I would be very grateful for suggestions or ideas of how you use
the Internet in various curriculum areas. We have access to the WWW via
Netscape and e-mail via Eudora along with other aspects of the Internet that
I haven't spent much time on. What are some specific lesssons that you do?
I would especially like some ideas that do not use e-mail unless you can
help me solve my second dilemna.

Second, we have only one Internet connection in the whole school, and
it is in my library. Thus, we have only one e-mail account and password.
My question is how can I use the Internet with classes with only one
connection? There must be a way to smoothly handle this and some good ideas
out there, but I can't think of any. It seems almost insurmountable to me.
Maybe I am not seeing something that is quite obvious, but how do I manage
e-mail, for instance, if I want to do a project that involves that aspect of
the Internet (and most seem to)? Many of the projects I have read about
involve contacting other schools/students/professionals, etc. via e-mail.
How do I deal with the responses that come in along with lm_net stuff and
other e-mail? What if I have several different projects going on at the
same time? I know that when I do my workshop this will be one of the first
questions teachers will ask.

Our technology coordinator says that we will eventually have Internet
access in our computer lab, but it may be down the road a year or two. In
the meantime, how do I make use of my lone library connection? Any help
would be greatly appreciated. Please respond to me personally.

     Thanks bunches, .

     Beth Backus
