Oh no, not again! The "Good Times" virus alert is a thoroughly documented hoax and urban legend. But like other urban legends, it refuses to die, and well-intentioned newcomers to the Internet continue to propogate the story. The CIAC (Computer Incident Advisory Capability) is the *official* Internet site for such reports, and their CIAC Notes, Number 4 (94-04 December 6, 1994) gives a complete account of this particular hoax. For the full text of CIAC Notes #4, use Yahoo (or any other WWW search) for the keyword CIAC or email a request to me, mel@lafn.org. Do *not* address your request to LM_NET. Sincerely, - Mel Roseman ______________________________________________________________________________ Mel Roseman mel@lafn.org
