Dear Library Media Specialists, (Would appreciate your passing on this information to any one you know who is job hunting or posting it on your state or university job lines. ) Because the Univ. of Guam's teacher training program cannot meet the demand for the teachers and specialists required by our territory's ever growing school-age population and 36 public schools, we have many openings for librarians, elementary and secondary teachers, and other specialists including ESL, special education, counseling, and speech therapy positions. Interested applicants must possess a valid U.S. teaching certificate or appropriate credential and U.S. citizenship. Before a teacher can be offered a contract, a basic English proficiency test with both listening and written components must be taken and an interview held at the recruiting site. If you are interested in living in warm weather, diving or other beach activities, making good friends, experiencing a different culture, and making a significant professional contribution, why not meet with our recruiting team and check us out. TO SET UP AN INTERVIEW: Please contact Patrick Artero, Natl. Teacher Recruiter, to set up an interview and testing at one of the four sites listed below. You may call him collect at: 671(country code) - 475-0646. Be sure to have the operator specify that the call is for Teacher Recruitment or it may not be accepted. If he is not there ask for Evelyn Salas, the certification officer or Tita, the DOD office secretary. You may also contact him at any of the hotels listed below. Because of the tight schedule the recruiting team keeps, it is recommended that you make contact as soon as possible. Please refer all questions regarding salary(competitive) , moving expenses provided, insurance, etc. to the recruiters as I am not connected with the personnel office I would be happy to answer questions about our school libraries or quality of life issues or to help you make contact if you have a problem.
